My body burns with anger
Boiling with wrathful thoughts
Inside my heart hardens,
Like once soft clay in the sun
My mind fills with wild ideas
Thinking of 'sweet' revenge
Then a gentle reminder
Be kind and compassionate
Forgiveness is the key that frees
Revenge is not mine, but God's
'Lord, take this anger from me
For revenge is not mine
Fill me with joy and peace
To pass on your love'
I am off to meet my foe
His throat looks a little dry
